Medical Care Is Just A Click Away

11:35 pm by admin. Filed under: Apothecary Jobs

I no longer miss work to go to the doctor. I no longer wait hours sitting in a doctors office just to see the doctor. In the past, after seeing the doctor, I now no longer have to wait at a pharmacy to get my prescriptions filled. I now get medical treatment and prescriptions without leaving the house. I get all of this and its just a click away. Not only a click away, but its also legal.

Today’s online pharmacies has made it very convenient for people who already know what their diagnosis is, and already know what medications work for them. Having said that, by no means am I recommending online pharmacies taking the place of your physician. What I am saying is a good reputable online pharmacy, with U. S. Physicians & Pharmacies, who prescribe FDA approved meds, is a great convenient, cheaper way to obtain medications for people who already know what meds they need. Also for people who don’t have a regular physician at the time, but still need the care of a licensed physician.

Only use online pharmacies located in the U. S, with U. S. Physicians & U. S. Pharmacies. Only use online pharmacies that require medical records where you actually speak to the physician on the phone. At that time you can ask any questions you may have, and the physician can ask you any questions about your treatment and medications needed. After my consultation with the physician, I receive my prescriptions the next day, shipped overnight, with two refills (a 90 day supply ).

In today’s times where a lot of people like me who just don’t have the time missing work to go to the doctor, a reputable online pharmacy is a wonderful, cheaper alternative. I am a pain management patient as well, so even people who suffer from chronic pain, with proper medical records, can obtain the proper pain medication as well for chronic pain sufferers. A professionally ran online pharmacy can treat most medical conditions at the fraction of the cost at a traditional office visit where you pay a office call, for the prescription, and not to mention the money lost due to missing or taking off of work. You can get medications for most any medical condition without leaving your home, or having to take off of work.

A Day At The Doctor’s Office

12:46 am by admin. Filed under: Pharmacy Courses

Do you ever wonder when you go to the doctor each time the receptionist ask you for your insurance card? I sure do. I went to the same doctor for 10 years seems they would know me by now or have made a copy of my insurance card. Have you ever read the sign that says payment due when services rendered, just to hear the lady ask you for your co-payment before you’ve even had the chance to sit down? Or how about after sitting for a long time in the waiting room, they call you back just to take your blood pressure than send you back out in the waiting room again. Or they call you back just to have you wait in another area.

I have always felt this was a tactic to make you feel like your getting somewhere when your really not. How about while waiting, your Doctor happens to see you, and he does all he can do not to make eye contact with you, or if you do they act like your a perfect stranger. How about that study I heard where the average time actually spent with the doctor is about three minutes. I then have to ask myself the question, why am I waiting so long in the waiting room. Or how about the one when the pharmaceutical rep just walks in asking for the Doctor and they tell them to come on back. I guess those free game tickets, or the free day at the spa is really more important than my health. These are just some of the mysteries I have never figured out when going to the doctor.

Those days are history. Knowing what medications I need each month, knowing already my diagnosis, obtaining prescription medications online is the wave of the future. If I need to get my pain medication, I have a consultation with a U.S Physician. I receive a 90 day supply of pain medication. You get the initial scipt filled, plus two refills which can be filled on the 25th day. Same goes for my treatment of my anxiety. All medications are written by U.S Physicians and filled by U.S. Pharmacies. Such medications as Hydrocodone, Vicodin, Lortab, Xanax are available. When receiving other non controlled medicatons for my migraine headaches, high cholestoral, ocassional depression, and a few other meds, I receive a free conslultation from a U.S. Physician and filled again by a U.S. Pharmacy.

These medications are shipped usually by overnight delivery. With this type of service available, more and more people are turning to the internet for their medication needs. Why wait hours in a doctors office, why pay the outrageous office visit fees, why feel treated like a number and not a person, when you can get the meds you need delivered to your door at a great low price. With so many people losing their healthcare benefits, losing their insurance, more people will be getting their medication online. So days at the doctors office to get your prescriptions are numbered. I hope this article has given you

Canadian Pharmacy Brings Outside Perspective to Medicare Part D

8:42 am by admin. Filed under: Pharmacy Assistant Jobs

Seniors are panicky, confused and angry at the way Medicare part d is being handled. There are gapping holes in the plan when it is examined closely and most people will not be able to take advantage of the ideal savings because that ideal savings is based on a specific annual expense.

Here are some facts that may help answer the concerns and make the issue a little clearer.

The Government is enforcing Medicare Part D. Proof of this is evident if considering the penalties individuals will incur by not joining Medicare Part D by May15th. The accumulative 1% penalty (per month) can become expensive over time and looks counter productive. It seems more likely the Government agenda is geared towards herding the public into a central plan and closing the doors for international prescription imports.

Medicare Part D is great if individual retail expenses are exactly $2250 each year. The further away annual costs are from that perfect amount, the less effective the plan is.

Medicare Part D is deceptive because it is presented as a 75% savings when in reality the savings are at best 60% when the perfect amount of $2250 is spent.

Medications that are not insured obviously reduce the savings. If you spend exactly $2250 retail on insured medications then your savings will be significant, probably between 50% and 60%. So who will hit that perfect amount?

Here are some scenarios to consider: (Based on $250 deductible and monthly premiums of $35)

* Spend $1200 on insured medications – Savings will be about 16%

* Spend $3000 on insured medications – Savings will be about 36%

* Spend $4000 on insured medications – Savings will be about 27%

The Perfect Situation:

* Spend $2250 on insured medications – Savings will be 52%

Anyone who is spending more than $2250 on prescriptions each year will be unhappy paying full retail after spending beyond the $2250 mark, and possibly angry when they realize the monthly premiums are still due.

Spokesman for Professional Services Canada Darwin Corby, has this advice:

“Sit down and calculate all your prescription expenses at full retail by phoning a local Pharmacy. Get familiar with your Medicare Part D costs. Add the $250 deductible and monthly premiums together with the %25 not covered in the first $2250. Then add the full retail you will be paying in the doughnut hole on top of your costs. (The doughnut hole is the gap between $2250 and $5100)

Subtract the deductible, monthly premiums, doughnut hole expenses and 25% from the savings to find your approximate savings for the year. You also need to understand that reaching the ideal savings is highly unlikely.”

A simple webpage chart is provided to help understand Medicare Part D on this page

Recommendations:

Use a Canadian Prescription service to help avoid the Doughnut hole if expenses are high. Join a low cost Medicare Part D plan to avoid the penalties if expenses are low. Enquire about Canadian prescription prices to maximize savings.

Buy Meds From Canadian Companies

5:31 pm by admin. Filed under: Pharmacy Assistant Jobs

It is an ever increasing fact that many Americans are turning to their northern neighbors in Canada for more affordable prescription medication in the face of skyrocketing costs within their own country. As men and women everywhere become aware of the possibilities that prescription drugs can have in improving their lives, it becomes a struggle for a great many to choose between buying drugs within their own country, and importing them from Canada.

The price of prescription meds sold in Canada is drastically less virtually without exception when compared to the United States. Companies selling meds in Canada over Internet pharmacies and the like are making huge profits from international sales, and have cultivated the vastly growing monster that is the prescription drug market. Of course, the counterfeit drug boogeyman is often sent out by interested American parties, making it sound like Canadian drugs are made by a couple of toque wearing, beer swilling, Bob and Doug Mackenzie types, but for the vast majority of cases, this just isnt true.

The question becomes, what do you do if youre an American and you suffer from an illness which requires you to be dependent on prescription drugs to function in your normal, productive way, and yet you cant afford the ever increasing rates that are being saddled to nearly all forms of medications. What do you do if you need to pay so much for meds every month that you cant afford to kept the heat on in your apartment, or you cant afford to eat as healthy as you should because your shelling out all your cash in the pharmacy instead of in the grocery store? And what if there was a ray of hope just across the border where you could go to pick up the medications you desperately need at a massively reduced price, so that you could get back to spending your money on the basic necessities of life that dont come in form of pills.

This is not a fable, its not a scary bedtime story; its real life, and its a problem that affects a growing number of honest, hardworking Americans as the years pass by and the prices go up and up. And as the years pass by in ones own life, the amount of drugs we have to take rises exponentially, which means that the biggest sufferers from the high cost of prescription drugs is usually senior citizens. Seniors will usually have to take some form of drug each day, depending on how healthy they are, and depending on the amount of money they still have coming in. As a person approaches retirement, the money spent on prescription drugs can start to realize itself as a serious financial burden, meaning that often the only chance for a person of advanced age to continue to get the meds they need is to buy them from Canada.

On the other side of the proverbial coin, there is the question of what kind of situation this puts Canada in, as its stock of prescription medication http://www.tahomatimes.com/category/health-reviews is whittled away by foreign buyers who have no other place to turn. Will a depleted stock of meds be a cause of concern for the Canadian patient, who wants to be allowed to continue the same tradition of getting prescription meds as he or she has been used to? Buying meds from Canada is a contentious issue in contentious times, and with argumentative parties on both sides of the border, one that will likely continue to be discussed.

Lack of Faculty Contributes To Ongoing Nursing Shortage

5:09 pm by admin. Filed under: Apothecary Jobs

America is facing a nursing shortage that is threatening the quality of health care for patients. A major factor in the problem is a nationwide shortage of faculty in nursing school programs.

Although the number of students applying to undergraduate nursing programs is rising, many are being turned away. With insufficient faculty, the rate of these qualified applicants being denied access into nursing programs is nearly twice as high as those being accepted.

The nursing faculty shortage limits student capacity at a time when the health care system demands more. According to a Vanderbilt School of Nursing study, the nursing shortage is expected to approach more than 800,000 positions by 2020.

Recognizing the nursing shortage crisis and the need for more nurse educators, hospitals and universities are relying on help from unconventional sources including corporations like Johnson & Johnson, which launched a campaign to strengthen the nursing work force by enhancing the image of the profession, recruiting new nurses and faculty, and retaining nurses currently in the profession.

“Too many qualified nursing school applicants are being turned away due to lack of faculty,” said Andrea Higham, director of The Johnson & Johnson Campaign for Nursing’s Future. “The numbers are staggering. The nursing profession needs assistance in recruiting educators, who will train and prepare new nurses, all in hopes of beginning to address the nursing shortage crisis.”

To help raise funds for nursing school grants, scholarships and faculty fellowships, the campaign sponsors Promise of Nursing galas, which have raised more than $7 million. By supporting graduate nursing programs, the Campaign is helping to supply teachers and mentors to prepare the next generation of nurses.

The health and future well-being of the nation depends on nurses, so the faculty shortage must be a priority for health care officials, state and federal government, and citizens, Higham said. – NU

Juggling a Career and Work

1:26 am by admin. Filed under: Apothecary Jobs

Finding the time to do it all – career, family, continue education? Having trouble jugging? Some problems in this area that people face are very similar to those of the beginning juggler. According to The Instant Jugglers’ Manual, (c)1993 Infinite Illusions/Lofty Pursuits, four common problems are handling two areas of focus at the same time, moving forward while you try to juggle instead of standing still, not being able to juggle in a third area of focus, and keeping all three areas from bumping into each other or overlapping. So lets take a look at some solutions to these problems.

Two at Once

To juggle two objects, you first toss one into the air to about eye level, then toss number two. The same with life. Pick any two areas of focus, and only try to tackle one at a time to establish goals and a system for it in your life. Then work in the second area. And just as juggling wouldnt work if the wrist puts too much or too little force into the toss, causing one or both objects to go too high or too low, the same can happen in life. If established goals are too high or low, not compatible with one another and your lifestyle, that juggling act doesnt stand much chance.

For instance, if fictitious person, John Wentworth, wants to complete a doctoral program, yet only earns minimum wage, he may need financial assistance with his continued education to balance the act. Otherwise, John could have to work over time and take on a second job to fill gaps and pay bills. He may miss out on valuable family time with his wife and young son and become stressed out and exhausted. Not to mention his grades could take a dive! Student loans, grants and work-study could be some possible solutions in this case.

Where is juggling help? Instead of The Instant Jugglers’ Manual, there are many resources available to help with juggling career, family and education. Local colleges are a good place to start.

Not Being Able To Juggle In A Third

Ready to add a third factor into the equation? Concentrate on throwing ball number #3 and do not even try to catch ball #2, advises The Instant Jugglers’ Manual. Or once you have two areas of focus pretty much underway, say your career and family, add the third education.

Get help planning your education into the mix with resources. Head to your local educational center or public libraries for help. Dont get left dropping or not juggling the ball!

BestCash Back Credit Cards – Earn 5% Cash Back

BestCash Back Credit Cards – Earn 5% Cash Back Automatically

With so many scams out there and businesses trying to pull the wool over consumer’s eyes, it seems impossible to believe that a credit card would really offer to pay 5% cash back just for making purchases with the card. Nonetheless, it is true. Several of the best cash back credit cards are really giving their customers 5% cash back rewards – and you just might be able to take advantage of these special deals.

Beating the Competition

With so many credit cards out there, credit card companies are in a bind to find a way to draw more customers in. One of the answers they have come up with is to offer cash back credit cards. With these credit cards, you earn money back for every purchase you make. As cash back credit cards rise in popularity, credit card companies are once again at the drawing table looking for a way to bring customers their way. All of this fierce battling is perfect for the consumer, who can take advantage of the resulting deals.

One of these great deals is the increase in credit card companies willing to provide cardholders with 5% cash back. In addition, this cash back reward is earned from making everyday purchases, such as those made at drugstores, gas stations, and grocery stores. These cards also offer 1% cash back on all other purchases.

Finding a 5% Cash Back Credit Card

The best cash back credit cards provide the 5% cash back reward. Some credit cards offering this special deal are Citi Dividend Platinum Select MasterCard and the Blue Cash Card from American Express. Whether you are an individual or a small business, you can find a great cash back credit card. The Advanta Platinum with Rewards and American Express OPEN: The Small Business Network are two great cash back credit cards for business owners.

The Downside

There is one downside to the 5% cash back bonus offered by certain cash back credit cards. Certain major stores, such as Sam’s Club and Wal-Mart, do not earn the 5% rebate. This is not because the credit card company has excluded them. Rather, it is because these stores have not coded their items as grocery, gas, or pharmacy. Therefore, the credit card company has no way to properly track the items. Therefore, you will need to go to major drug stores, grocery stores, and gas stations to take advantage of the special 5% incentive. Otherwise, you will only earn 1% cash back.

The Mindset of the Credit Card Company

Credit card companies are able to offer the great incentives of these cash back credit cards for many reasons. First of all, they are willing to pay out a little extra in order to grab a larger portion of the consumer market. Secondly, American spending habits have traditionally been to use a check or cash for everyday necessities, such as food, health, and home purchases. Therefore, they are counting on you setting the plastic aside when you visit drug stores, gas stations, and grocery stores.

The trend for credit card usage is, however, changing. More and more, consumers are using their credit cards for everyday purchases. Retailers are assisting in this trend by providing incentives for using credit cards, such as fast moving self-service aisles that accept only credit cards. So, if you are able to pay your credit card balance at the end of the month and if you make sure to use your cash back credit card for all of your purchases, particularly the everyday ones, you will be sure to start earning money back in no time!

Insights into the Nursing Faculty Shortage

12:04 pm by admin. Filed under: Apothecary Jobs

Registered nurses are trained to care for patients while also assessing medical conditions, and administering treatment and medications. They are employed in hospitals, physician’s offices, long term care facilities and as home health aides. Nurses are becoming an increasingly important part of the healthcare system due to rising costs and growing demand. With the increasing need for nurses in the coming decades, it seems that the United States cannot produce enough nurses to fill the supply.

Healthcare careers are the fastest growing occupation in the country, and nursing tops the charts as the fastest growing occupation within the healthcare field. Why, then, are prospective nursing students being turned away from nursing schools? In the last year that statistics were available, it was estimated that nearly 16,000 students who were qualified to attend a nursing program were turned away. One reason for the shortage of registered nurses is the lack of faculty to instruct and train prospective nursing students. With a vacancy rate over 8 1/2% and rising, the faculty shortage limits the number of students who can become nurses.

Faculty shortages are not the only reason that prospective students are turned away from nursing schools. Budget constraints have limited school’s abilities to update classrooms and lab equipment. There is a shortage of clinical opportunities for students in many areas. While the state and federal government have taken aggressive steps to recruit nurses in advance of the growing need, with tuition help and improvement of working conditions, their efforts are stymied by the inability of colleges to meet the demands of a growing healthcare crunch.

Lack of faculty is a main factor in nursing shortage

In what is probably the biggest determining factor in how many students are accepted by a school, there are simply not enough nurses teaching at the college level. While some nursing classes, such as core mathematics and chemistry classes do not require a nurse, others do. In fact, a certain percentage of the positions requiring a nurse require that the nurse have a doctorate degree. In contrast, the number of nurses who are seeking their doctorate degree is relatively small. It is estimated that many of the unfilled faculty positions are those that require doctoral education.

Why the shortage of nurses with doctorate degrees? While receiving your doctorate in any field is an accomplishment, it is a simple fact that a nurse can become a nurse anesthetist, a midwife, or a nurse practitioner and make a larger salary and be in heavy demand. Even nursing faculty positions that require only a masters program must compete with the lucrative positions available in the private sector. Nursing specialists are widely used in many communities to provide care for those without access to a physician. These nurses are RNs, with their bachelor and masters degree. As a certified nurse practitioner, the nurse has a great deal of autonomy in her practice and is well compensated.

Because of the specialized nature of the degree, nurses that wish to receive their doctorate must often leave the area where they are and move to a more urban area. At the completion of their training, they often do not return. Many of the nurses that complete a doctorate program, as many as one-fourth, state at graduation that they have no plans to work in academics, and head straight to the clinical setting.

In the past, nursing instructors received a more competitive salary, but as the demand for nurses has increased in the private sector, their salaries have quickly outpaced the salaries of those in education. Now, as more nursing instructors reach retirement age, there is no one to fill their positions. Often nurses who have spent their entire careers in the educational setting enter the clinical setting to raise their income before retirement age.

What can be done?

The shortage of nursing faculty is a well documented and studied problem. With the demand for nurses increasing rapidly, it is important to find a way to increase the number of nurses who can be trained. Some plans are in place to help remedy the nursing shortage. Federal funds are being used for faculty development programs and to collect data on faculty vacancy rates.

Approaching retirement

With many nursing instructors reaching retirement age, the problem of nursing faculty shortages is not expected to go away. The problem creates a vicious cycle, with a growing demand for nurses in the clinical setting raising salaries and benefits. This draws even more nurses out of the academic setting. The shortage of faculty leads to a decrease in the number of students who are accepted into nursing programs. Again, this creates a greater shortage. It is estimated that the nursing shortage, in the clinical setting only, will grow by 6% a year. This shortage can be traced back to the shortage of nursing faculty members

How To Take Advantage of Medicare Part D

4:38 am by admin. Filed under: Apothecary Jobs

Try to imagine the new medical insurance plan from a detached position.

There is an excellent opportunity for seniors sharp enough to see it, and it is available to anyone willing to do a little math. The savings presented in Medicare part d are a little deceiving because at first glance it looks like 75%, when in fact that is only a portion of the overall savings in the formula. Here is a simple way to calculate how to take advantage of the new government medical insurance IF EXPENSES ARE OVER $2250 PER YEAR.

Four things need to be considered.

Start with annual prescription expenses. Figure out how much would be spent on prescriptions if there was no insurance at all. The full retail amount is important for this calculation.

Calculate which month of the year full retail costs reach the “Magic Mark” of $2250. This will expose when the medical insurance stops and full retail costs apply.

For plan costs, add up how much will be spent on the annual deductible and monthly premiums. (in the chosen medical insurance plan) Add $500 to this amount for the 25% not covered by Medicare part d.

Now add the full retail amount that will be spent for the remainder of the year to find the real expenses. Subtract savings ($1500) from expenses to calculate the real percentage of savings. Understand that 75% savings is impossible to reach.

Here’s How To Maximize Savings if Prescription Expenses Are More Than $2250

The “Magic Mark” for maximum savings is $2250 in medicare part d. USE IT! Once prescription costs go beyond that magic mark, the percentage of savings sinks like a rock. To avoid that problem and to take advantage of every angle, use another discount source for prescriptions.

Canadian medications are typically 30% – 40% less expensive, and using a Canadian Pharmacy to balance expenses is like an additional medical insurance policy. The recommendation is to buy enough prescriptions from Canada every three months to target the “Magic Mark” of $2250 with the government medical insurance. By spending exactly $2250 per year (Retail) through medicare part d and buying the balance of medications from Canada, the savings will work out as follows.

Approximately 50% – 60% savings will be had through the government medical insurance plan, and about 30% – 40% savings on the portion purchased from Canada. If there are some medications that can be bought from Canada to help target the “Magic Mark” of $2250 then figure out which Canadian Prescriptions offer the greatest savings and buy those medications from Canada throughout the year. Keep in mind some medications will not be covered under Medicare part d and those ones would be ideal to get from Canada.

One More Consideration

If expenses are beyond $5100 there can still be a significant savings by using this method. It depends on how much would be spent at full retail in the year and how far expenses go into the catastrophic end. Use a Canadian Pharmacy to supplement the Government Medical Insurance and avoid the dreaded un-insured portion… the “Doughnut Hole”
